In the couple years I was away, cycling discovered torque spec’s. Hopefully screw heads are the next frontier, with a switch from Hex and Phillips over to Torx drive. This new bike does have a few Torx fasteners, but they’re far from the majority:
|Brake Disc||Torx||6.2 Nm|
|Brake Caliper||Torx||5-7 Nm|
|Saddle Clamp||Hex||7 Nm|
|Derailer, Front Adjust||Hex||-|
|Derailer, Rear Adjust||Phillips||-|
I’d like to switch everything over to Torx. Chainring and braking fasteners seem readily available (and already installed), but not seatpost clamp fasteners, or general socket head cap screws in M3 to M6 sizes.
